Troubled Waters by Susan May Warren

Billionaire Ian Shaw can have everything he wants–except a happy ending. Or at least that’s what it feels like with his fortune recently liquidated, his niece, Esme, still missing, and the woman he loves refusing to speak to him. In fact, he doubts she would date him even if they were stranded on a deserted island.

Despite her love for Ian, Sierra Rose knows he has no room in his life for her as long as the mystery of his missing niece goes unsolved. The only problem is, Sierra has solved it, but a promise to Esme to keep her whereabouts secret has made it impossible to be around Ian.

My Thoughts:

This book was action packed from start to finish. Troubled Waters is the 4th book in the Montana Rescue series by Susan May Warren. This book continues the story line of the previous books in the series, however there is enough explanation that it can be read as a stand alone book if desired. This story was fast paced and full of danger and surprises. While the story and characters were well written I tend to gravitate towards storylines that have more realistic plot lines. There were quite a few life or death scenarios that popped up in this book, and while entertaining, it made the story a little larger than life and hard to connect with. I did enjoy the continued story lines of several of the characters and there were several things left open ended for future books in the series. There were also several sweet romantic moments that fans of this series have been waiting for! I like how each book in the series allows the reader to learns a little bit more about the situations in the characters pasts, like finding missing puzzle pieces. All in all it was a fast paced and entertaining book that will keep the reader on their toes from start to finish.
